Toddlers love to make collages. Some items to use are:
Hand your toddler (and older child too!) a glue stick and a pile of the above items, and let him paste away.
For older kids, themed collages can offer an added dimension. Here are some ideas:
SEASONS
Separate a poster board into four squares, and label each one with a season. Then search through magazines for pictures corresponding to each season and paste them in the appropriate box.
TIMES
Make a collage of pictures of mealtime, bath time, bedtime, play time...
YOUR DAY
Take pictures of your kids throughout the day as they eat, go to the park, have a play date, brush their teeth-and make a timeline collage of their day to help them remember it
YOUR BODY
Make a collage of hands, or feet, or faces from cut-out magazine pages.
TEXTURES
Paste different colored and textured papers, swatches of fabric, foil, even sand paper.
The possibilities are endless. Use your imagination (or borrow from theirs) to come up with other collage themes.
